Professional Area Rug Cleaning That Restores Your Home
Your area rugs deserve specialized care to preserve their beauty, protect their fibers, and extend their lifespan. At Colossal Carpet Care, we've provided professional area rug cleaning services since 2001, backed by more than 35 years of industry experience and a commitment to exceptional results.
As a family-owned business, we understand that area rugs are often valuable investments that add comfort, character, and style to your home. That's why we take a customized approach to every rug we clean.
Your rug isn't carpet, and it shouldn't be cleaned like carpet. Area rugs can contain wool, cotton, synthetic fibers, specialty dyes, and a wide variety of construction styles. Each rug requires careful evaluation and the proper cleaning method to ensure the best possible results without risking damage.
As IICRC-certified professionals, we inspect every rug before cleaning and determine the most appropriate treatment based on its fibers, dyes, construction, age, and overall condition. Rugs are cleaned off-site in our dedicated facility, where we can provide the thorough care they deserve. After cleaning, each rug is properly dried, groomed, finished, and returned to your home looking its best.
Our comprehensive cleaning process helps remove embedded dirt, allergens, odors, and stains while helping preserve the integrity and appearance of your rug. From delicate heirloom rugs and fine wool rugs to everyday area rugs, each piece receives individualized attention throughout the cleaning process.
For added convenience, we offer free pickup and delivery, so you never have to worry about moving heavy rugs yourself. We also stand behind our work with a quality assurance guarantee, giving you confidence in the care and results you receive.
From treasured family heirlooms to the rugs you enjoy every day, our Golden-based team is committed to protecting your investment and restoring its beauty.
For professional area rug cleaning that helps your rugs look better, last longer, and stay healthier, contact Colossal Carpet Care today for a free same-day estimate.
Professional Pet Urine and Odor Removal for Area Rugs
Pet urine can penetrate deep beyond the surface of an area rug, affecting the fibers, backing, foundation, fringe, and even the underlying support structure. When this occurs, routine surface cleaning is often not enough to fully address the contamination or the odors that can develop over time.
At Colossal Carpet Care, we carefully inspect each rug and determine the most appropriate treatment based on its construction, fiber type, dyes, age, and level of contamination. Our specialized off-site cleaning process allows us to thoroughly evaluate and treat affected rugs using methods designed to remove as much urine contamination, staining, and odor as possible while protecting the integrity of the rug.
Because every rug and every contamination issue is different, results can vary. Factors such as the age of the urine deposits, the severity of contamination, previous cleaning attempts, fiber type, dye stability, and how deeply the urine has penetrated can all impact the outcome. While our goal is always to achieve the best possible results, complete stain removal and complete odor elimination cannot be guaranteed in every situation.
Our team will provide an honest assessment of the rug's condition and recommend the most effective treatment options available to help restore its appearance, freshness, and longevity. By addressing pet-related contamination with specialized off-site rug cleaning rather than standard carpet cleaning methods, we can often achieve significantly better results while helping protect your investment.

Oriental Rug Cleaning
Persian Rug Cleaning
Persian rugs showcase some of the finest craftsmanship worldwide, often becoming family treasures across generations. Our cleaning process respects this heritage with careful attention designed for these special pieces. We understand the unique qualities of Persian wool, silk, and cotton fibers, and the natural dyes that create their beautiful patterns.
Wool Rug Cleaning
Wool rugs need special care because of their natural fiber qualities and risk of shrinking if cleaned incorrectly. Our wool rug cleaning starts with checking the rug's condition, followed by careful dust removal and stain treatment. We use cleaning solutions made for wool that remove dirt while keeping the natural lanolin that gives wool its strength and softness.

Can you remove dog or cat urine from an area rug?
In many cases, yes, although results depend on the rug, the type and age of the contamination, and whether urine has reached the backing or foundation. We inspect the rug before cleaning and recommend the appropriate treatment. Complete odor or stain removal cannot always be guaranteed.
Can you tell me whether my rug is worth cleaning before you pick it up?
Yes. Customers are welcome to call or text us and send photos of the rug before scheduling. We can often provide guidance about whether professional cleaning makes sense before arranging pickup.

Our standard area rug cleaning service starts at $3.25 per square foot. After inspecting your rug, additional services such as pet urine treatment, heavy soil removal, specialty fiber cleaning, repairs, fringe restoration, or other unique conditions may be quoted separately based on the rug’s specific needs.
